Lauren will not be teaching private lessons on a regular basis for the 2019/2020 school year. She will be teaching on a "time permitting" basis. Available times will be posted within her Acuity calendar where you can book in and pay for your lesson. All times slots are on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have an audition coming up, are about to hit the recording studio or have another performance you want to refine or hone, please contact Lauren and she will make time to work with you. You should aim to see her two to three times ahead of a vocal performance, audition or recording session.

If you have a day off school or work and you would like to have a lesson during the day, please let her know well in advance and you can book in. The more notice you give, the more likely she can squeeze you in. :)

To book your lesson please request a password to our studio members page. lauren@singsana.com.

If you are just starting theory for the first time, it helps to know how to read notes on a staff (those are the lines that music is written on). You can start by using an app called TENUTO.

You can set the parameters of your note naming and even do timed tests.

Another great app is Sight Singing. This will help improve your sight-reading. You have the option to use Solfege syllables or one vowel. It has a range of difficulty, time signatures and keys.

Both apps can be downloaded from the App Store.

If you wish you start your Rudimentary to Harmony IV theory, e-mail Lauren@singsana.com and book in a time.

Adult Vocal Group

The Extremities is a group of adults who love music, enjoy singing and want to improve their singing in a group setting. Every level of singer is welcome in this group, whether you are just starting out or are more experienced. Each member will learn to stretch beyond the edge of their abilities either vocally, harmonically or performance-wise. Not every class is comfortable, but we have wine for that.

If you’ve been in the group before, you know how much fun we have! There are going to be some improvements and additions to the program this year.

We are going to have our own show with a LIVE BAND! The Extremities will perform 4-5 songs as a group and a chance to sing solo with a live band at a public venue in January.

With your enrolment fees you will receive the following:

  • 18, weekly group session with the Extremities and a glass of wine (We will rotate who brings the wine)

  • Two, 30-minute private lessons with Lauren to prepare your solo song

  • A chance to sing solo with a live band at a public venue in January

(This is optional. Singing with a live band sounds intimidating but we will be there to support and guide you along the way. If you don’t feel comfortable or ready to do this, you will not be forced to do it.)

Singsana will be accepting 14 members for the September to January semester.

There will be NO CLASSES on:

  • October 14 (Thanksgiving Monday)

  • December 23 and 30 (Christmas Break)

September to January Semester – $410.00

To secure your spot, a deposit of $100.00 is required. Please use our online scheduler to book yourself in and pay your deposit. You will also be given the option to pay in full.

This deposit is non-refundable.

Let’s have some fun!

Recording Coach

It’s nice to have an extra set of ears in studio when you’re recording your next single. You can book to Lauren sit alongside your session and support you in creating an outstanding track. She’ll keep your spirits high and keep you comfortable in the booth. Having Lauren there will take some pressure away knowing you are getting truthful feedback. Remember, the most important thing is to sing with feeling and emotion.
